ART – Creating a Drawing From Scratch Part 1 – The Idea

Drawing from scratch part 1Making any drawing work, when you’ve never really seriously tried to do it, can be tough. There’s so many things to juggle and so many questions you don’t know the answer to.

Where should you put the ground plane? Why don’t your drawing elements look right on the page.  Those it matter at first?

What about perspective? When does that come into play? At the beginning? At the end?

One of my patrons over at Patreon had many of these questions.  She submitted a photo of a drawing she drew and asked me if I could help her answer some questions she had.

I did.

I made a video that answered some questions but brought up other questions.  I had made a video that was too short.  The reason I had done so was because I’ve gotten a critique about how long,  rambling, and redundant I could get in my videos.

I over compensated and made my next video too short and not informative enough.

I then tried it again, with some helpful suggestions from my patrons.  One of the may things they suggested was simply to break up the information into one topic videos. That way they don’t go on for so long.

Below is part 1 of 4 of what became my draw over video which is all about creating a drawing from scratch. I hope  you get something out of it:

Want To Get a Video From Me?

If you liked this video and would like me to discuss something you think I might know about…

If you want to ask me a question about drawing that you might be struggling with…

If you want to suggest a character or drawing you’d like me to draw (even your D&D character)…

…feel free to ask or suggest away, either here on my comments or anywhere else you’d like to contact me.

Just be aware that my Patreon patrons get their questions answered first and they get to see the videos weeks before anyone else.
