ART/VIDEO – Tackling Difficult Gesture Drawings

As you practice gesture drawing, you’ll come up against some really tricky poses you wouldn’t expect.  Especially if you’ve been practicing for a bit and have started developing an approach you’re comfortable with.

But that’s the thing about drawing, from life, it will always through you curve balls.  There will always be something that will challenge you no matter how comfortable you started to become.

That’s when you bring out other methods that may help.

An artist named Ken hit this very problem and asked me, how he could approach a gesture drawing based on a difficult bit of reference.  He sent me the reference so I made a video showing him and you how I’d approach it.  I hope this is helpful to everyone having a similar problem.
